If you are looking for group training classes, we offer several options during Spring, Summer and Fall. Group classes do not meet during Winter months. Group training classes are ideal for those clients on a budget and for socialization purposes, or for those that have dogs who get along well with other dogs. Group training classes will consist of 4-6 dog/handler teams held at a local park.
Check out our Tiny Tots (AKC Star Pappy) puppy training classes, or for older dogs who need to work on obedience, we have the Talented Toddlers (Canine Good Citizen) classes. For those looking for the Canine Good Citizen test only (CGC tests are offered year round), please email train2at@gmail.com to schedule your test.
NEW FOR 2023!
Join us in 2023 for Non-Competition Fun Scent Games! Classes begin in May. Register below!
Non Competition Fun Scent Games: $100 for 4 classes
“Canine Fun Scent Games” is a four-week class that meets for one hour each week and is limited to 6 dogs. Your dog will learn fun games to search for food. This popular dog sport enables you to wear your dog out mentally, so it is ideal for active dogs, dogs with physical limitations or anyone who just wants to play a fun game with their dog. Dogs learn to systematically search boxes and other objects for hidden food. The level of difficultly increases each week and it is fascinating to watch the dogs catch scent and make a find. Dogs and parents give this class a very high rating for fun!
This class is for dogs and dog owners who want to do scent work and play scent games with their dogs, but not on a competition level. It is a beginning course. Class is limited to 6 participant/dog teams. You will keep your dog on a leash during class; dogs will not be crated in-between runs.
Tiny Tots (AKC Star Puppy Class): $165 for 6 classes
AKC fees (paid to AKC) not included in price
Classes on Hiatus – Follow Us on Social for Updates!
Tiny Tots follows the AKC Star Puppy Program. It covers socialization, basic training and obedience behaviors (name recognition, sit, down, recall, basic leash walking, and more), and general information about puppy ownership, including potty training and resource guarding prevention suggestions, as needed. This class is customized based on the needs of the registered students. At the end of the class, if you choose to list your dog in the AKC database, you will receive a ribbon and signed paperwork to submit for a certificate and medal from the AKC. (There is a small fee from AKC for this if you choose to register). You may take the class for training purposes and not participate in the AKC side. For all vaccinated puppies up to 1 year old. This class is once a week for 6 weeks and is 45 minutes long.
For more information on the AKC program, visit their website.
Talented Toddlers (Canine Good Citizen): $165 for 5 classes plus CGC Test
AKC fees (paid to AKC) not included in price
Classes on Hiatus – Follow Us on Social for Updates!
CGC Testing Available Year Round. Email train2at@gmail.com to schedule. Cost is $50 plus AKC fees.
Learn and master the 10 items needed to register your dog as an AKC Canine Good Citizen. Class will end with the test and upon passing, you will receive a ribbon, certificate (provided by the AKC) and information on how to register with the AKC. Keep in mind, not every dog will pass the test at the end of the class as some dogs take more time to learn these skills, however, you may choose to continue working with your dog if you don’t think he/she is ready for the test. We offer both classes and testing. Class is once a week for 45 minutes and includes 5 weeks of instruction with the 6th week being the test administration.
Before registering, please visit the AKC website and familiarize yourself with the AKC fees for registering. The cost of our class does not include the fees to AKC as they require the dog owner to pay to register your pup. Training to a T, LLC does not track their fees, but they usually aren’t huge. Registering with the AKC is not required to take this class. You may enroll you pup just for the obedience lessons if you choose.
More about the CGC from the Canine Good Citizen Website
“CGC is a ten-skill training program that’s open to all dogs–purebred and mixed breed–that focuses on teaching the basics of good manners and obedience, instilling the values of responsible ownership, and strengthening the bond between you and your dog at home and out in the community.
After mastering the ten skills, passing the CGC test together, and taking the Responsible Dog Ownership pledge, you and your pup will join the proud ranks of over 1 million dogs who have earned their Canine Good Citizen award– accomplishment that’s definitely worthy of extra belly rubs!”
