Learn and master the 10 items needed to register your dog as an AKC Canine Good Citizen. Class will end with the test and upon passing, you will receive a ribbon, certificate and information on how to register with the AKC. Not every dog will pass the test at the end of the class as some dogs take more time to learn these skills. You may choose to continue working with your dog if you don’t think he/she is ready for the test.

More about the CGC from the Canine Good Citizen Website:

“CGC is a ten-skill training program that’s open to all dogs–purebred and mixed breed–that focuses on teaching the basics of good manners and obedience, instilling the values of responsible ownership, and strengthening the bond between you and your dog at home and out in the community.

After mastering the ten skills, passing the CGC test together, and taking the Responsible Dog Ownership pledge, you and your pup will join the proud ranks of over 1 million dogs who have earned their Canine Good Citizen award– accomplishment that’s definitely worthy of extra belly rubs!”

Place/Mat Training WorkshopOne of the most versatile behaviors we can teach our dogs is going to a mat to sit and wait. This training gives our dog a foundation from which many other trainings can grow and can be used in a myriad of places.

-Use mat training to help teach your dog not to door dash
-Give your dog a spot to sit and wait while you are cooking or eating dinner
-Use it to teach appropriate greeting behavior when company comes over
-Give your dog a place to wait when you are hauling groceries in the house
-And so many more!

Bring your dog and join us at this workshop to learn the basics of mat training and how to scale it to other important areas like those above. Register using the link to the right.
